A continuation of the work “Arpillera”, 2021, this piece creates a more inclusive collective narrative of the Chilean social uprising of 2019, by directly translating individual testimonies into the textile installation.
Each personal experience is translated into a material textile piece using scraps of fabric inspired by the leftovers of several arpilleras. When sewn together they create a collective discourse, an abstract arpillera that tells the story of this powerful moment in the history of Chile.
